چکیده

This study is aimed at evaluating antibody responses, viral loads, clearance and growth rate of Tanzanian free-range local chicken (FRLC) challenged with LaSota strain Newcastle disease virus (NDV) as indicator traits for selection chickens breeding enhanced resistance to the economic value. Three popular ecotypes: Kuchi, Ching’wekwe Morogoro-medium from three ecological zones Tanzania were used experiments. Progenies breeder 107 titer 50% egg infectious dose (EID50) 28 days age. The loads rates evaluated by qRT-PCR tear samples collected 2- 6-days post infection (dpi) showed that Kuchi could clear NDV better than Ching’wekwe. Anti-NDV levels determined blood 10 dpi using ELISA ecotype expressed higher mean anti-NDV antibodies compared Growth body weights 38 day hatch (D0) chickens. potentially more resistant ND Key words: Free-range chickens, disease, immune response, innate resistance.

Assessment of HTLV-I proviral load, HIV viral load and CD4 T cell count in infected subjects; with an emphasis on viral replication in co-infection

Objective(s): HTLV-I and HIV virus quantification is an important marker for assessment of virus activities. Since there is a direct relationship between the number of virus and disease progression, HTLV- I and HIV co-infection might have an influence on the development of viral associated diseases, thus, viral replication of these viruses and co-infection were evaluated.   Materials and...

Wide range of viral load in healthy african green monkeys naturally infected with simian immunodeficiency virus.

The distribution and levels of simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) in tissues and plasma were assessed in naturally infected African green monkeys (AGM) of the vervet subspecies (Chlorocebus pygerythrus) by limiting-dilution coculture, quantitative PCR for viral DNA and RNA, and in situ hybridization for SIV expression in tissues. A wide range of SIV RNA levels in plasma was observed among thes...

Effect of in ovo Injection of Royal Jelly on Post-Hatch Growth Performance and Immune Response in Broiler Chickens Challenged with Newcastle Disease Virus

The aim of this experiment was to study the effect of in ovoinjection of royal jelly (RJ) on growth performance and immune response in broiler chickens challenged with Newcastle disease virus. A total of 200 hatching eggs were divided into four groups of 50 eggs each one using a completely randomized design. The eggs were injected with sterilized sodium bicarbonate buffer (pH=10.4) or RJ (88%) ...

The effect of mixed live vaccines of Newcastle disease and infectious bronchitis on systemic and local antibody responses in chickens

In the present study, 360 male day-old broiler chicks were used to determine the effect of mixed livevaccines of Newcastle disease (ND) and infectious bronchitis (IB) on serum and local antibody responses toIB. Chicks were randomly divided into 12 treatment groups of 3 replicates and reared for 40 days on floorpens. Groups 1 to 5 received mixed ND and IB vaccine. Groups 7 to 11 received IB vacc...
